Born of a Vision
Higher Ground Bible Church was founded on a conviction as simple as it was daring: that the Word of God, preached without compromise, has the power to transform any life, any community, any nation. What began as a small gathering of hungry believers has grown into one of Nigeria's most respected Bible-teaching denominations.
Today, we are a family of over 80 local assemblies across Nigeria — from Lagos to Kano, Port Harcourt to Kaduna — and we carry our mission beyond Africa's shores with a thriving community in the United Kingdom.
We are not a denomination built on personality. We are built on the Person of Jesus Christ, and the eternal, living Word of God. That is our anchor. That is our advantage.

Shepherds of the Flock
Apostle Andrew Preye Wilson founded Higher Ground Bible Church Nigeria, Inc. on June 23, 1996 — a Holiness/Pentecostal organisation born out of a deep conviction on the truth of God's Word. Called into ministry in 1977, he served faithfully for 19 years and rose to General Superintendent of his former denomination before stepping out to birth HGBC. He holds a Diploma in Theology from Calvary College, Port Harcourt, and a Bachelor in Religious Education from God's Bible School and College, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
Rev. Mercy Wilson has stood alongside the General Overseer since their marriage in 1978 — a co-labourer in every sense of the word. She leads the Women's Ministry across all branches with grace, wisdom and motherly strength, and is the convener of the annual Women's Summit that has transformed thousands of women across Nigeria and beyond.
Rev. Jonathan Iworiso leads the Higher Ground Bible Church London with apostolic vision and a pastor's heart. Called to serve the Nigerian diaspora and reach the wider British community, he has built the UK assembly into a vibrant, multicultural spiritual home for hundreds of families across South London.
